The pool… not so quiet.
No wonder Valle Nevado has become a favorite place for racers and
professional snowboarders. At the end of the season, regional and
national teams, both alpine and freestyle, come to train in the Andes.
At the same time, Valle Nevado hosts the year’s first stop of the
Snowboarding World Championships. Result? Wired athletes in hotel
lobbies, high-profi le snow dudes in the boardercross track, racers in
gates, loud teens in hallways and kick-ass riders partying by the pool.
You can get away from it all at dinner. Or not — stick to the crowd
and hit the discotheque or the hotels bars and enjoy one more pisco
sour. Your ears, your choice.
Lunch on the terrace:
Scott USA hat, Smith sunglasses,
Kjus softshell, Salomon boots.
Sitting pretty by the glacier:
Kjus jacket and pants,
Spy goggles,
Peak Performance headband.
